A short Kirtan recording will be available here soon.

Why Soul Simran

In a world full of noise, make space for meaning.

Music can be more than entertainment. Shabad Kirtan carries wisdom and values that invite us to pause, reflect and reconnect — with ourselves, with each other and with the Divine.

01 / KIRTAN

Words with meaning

Shabad offers timeless reminders of compassion, humility, gratitude and equality — messages worth carrying into everyday life.

02 / CONNECTION

A moment to feel

Soul Simran is about making space for connection through Kirtan. Just come, listen and see what you feel.

03 / DIVINE

Divine

A reminder of the connection that can sit beneath our differences — open to everyone, whatever their background or experience.

Our purpose

“A simple way to experience Kirtan — whether it is already part of your life or completely new.”

Soul Simran is about making space for connection through Kirtan. No need to know the words. No need to know the tradition. Just come, listen and see what you feel.

I first started singing Kirtan when I was young. Then, as life often does, things changed. I went to university, got married, had a family, and life became busy.

But Kirtan never left me. I would always listen to Shabad Kirtan and find myself singing Gurbani to myself. It remained a familiar and comforting part of my life, a connection that had been with me since childhood.

Shabad Kirtan had always held a special place in my heart. Even as life moved in different directions, that love for singing Gurbani stayed with me.

The guitar that waited 15 years

About 15 years ago, I bought a guitar. For years, it sat quietly in the corner of the room.

Then, in 2026, I felt an urge to pick it up again. I decided to take lessons from an Ustad, and that one decision opened a door I hadn't realised was still there. Since then, I've found myself playing almost every day.

The more I play, the more I realise that this isn't simply about learning an instrument. It has given me a deeper personal connection to the Shabad — and to the Divine. Singing and playing Kirtan creates space to slow down, go inward and connect. I feel uplifted, and my hunger to keep learning and playing continues to grow.

From playing at home to sharing a Shabad

For a long time, playing guitar and singing Kirtan was something very personal to me. Then came an opportunity I couldn't turn down.

At an Evolve Into Oneness camp, Sukhy Ji asked me if I would perform a Shabad. I said yes. It was my first time singing Kirtan while playing guitar in front of an audience — and not just a small gathering. I found myself in front of almost 200 people.

It was very different from sitting at home with my guitar. I wasn’t really nervous; something inside me felt ready for it, as though this was how it was meant to happen. There was something incredibly special about sharing a Shabad that had become such a personal part of my journey.

That moment made me realise that perhaps this wasn't meant to remain something I kept just for myself.

And that's where Soul Simran began

Soul Simran isn't about being a perfect singer or musician. It's about connection — and bringing the beauty and meaning of Kirtan into today's world, for people who have grown up with it and for those hearing it for the very first time.

In a world filled with noise and constant stimulation, I want Soul Simran to create space for something different: music with meaning, words that make you pause, and Shabad that can uplift, connect and remind us of something deeper within ourselves.

You don't need to know the words. You don't need to know the tradition. You can simply listen — and perhaps, somewhere in the sound of the Shabad, find a little connection of your own.
